In June 2024, the United Nations announced 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ), a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about quantum science and its applications.
The opening ceremony will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on February 4-5, 2025, marking the start of this year-long effort. It will focus on advancing quantum science, fostering collaboration, and promoting ethical innovation. Alongside the ceremony, an exhibition showcasing quantum breakthroughs and future possibilities will be held from February 3-7, 2025, offering an interactive experience for attendees.
