2024 Annual Report
2024 has been a year of operational ramp-up for the NQCC. Completion of our facility construction, commissioning, and population of our laboratories and the deployment of our SBRI Testbed platforms, capped many years of planning to reach this stage. The highlight of the year was our Ministerial Opening with Lord Vallance, Minister of State for Science, Research and Innovation. In parallel, we have been charting a route to quantum advantage at scale, in support of the UK Quantum Missions.
2023 Annual report
2023 saw several key milestones for the NQCC. Our Innovation Hub is complete, the main facility has reached its final fit-out, the Quantum Software Lab (QSL) has been established in Edinburgh, and our temporary labs for trapped ions and control systems development have been fully commissioned. We have also hosted multiple community events, commissioned a series of funding calls – including the £30m investment we are making in state-of-the-art quantum computing testbeds – and secured cloud access to third-party quantum compute resources.
2022 Annual report
For the NQCC, 2022 has been a notable pivot point in moving from development and planning to implementation and growth of the centre. It has also been a year of partnerships and collaboration – activities at the core of our purpose – across our programme. We are delighted to be growing the NQCC team, and working across the quantum computing ecosystem.
2021 Annual report
The NQCC launched its first annual report in November 2021, which reflects the progress made during NQCC’s foundational year, establishing a new national lab. Key milestones included delivery of our technology roadmap, breaking-ground for the facility at Harwell, and initiating key collaborations.
