Seeking Quantum Advantage: Workshop and Conference (SEEQA 2024)

NQCC is excited to co-host a one-week residential event at the historic Merton College in Oxford, from September 2nd to 5th, 2024. This event will bring together 150 leading experts in quantum technologies to explore the challenges and opportunities in the global quest to achieve general Quantum Advantage.

Throughout the week, participants will engage in discussions, presentations, and debates led by world-renowned speakers. The program features 10 invited long talks and 14 shorter talks, including a presentation by Ash Vadgama, NQCC’s Deputy Director for Operations on Monday the 2nd of September at 5 pm.

The event’s key themes include early fault tolerance, error mitigation, hybrid algorithms, benchmarking progress, quantum advantage in chemistry, and the integration of quantum computing with emerging classical methods.

A highlight of the event will be the poster session on Tuesday, September 3rd, from 17:00 to 19:30. There will be a £500 Poster Prize, which will be awarded to the most outstanding poster presented by a young researcher. The competition is open to students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) and early career researchers within four years of completing their doctorate. Eligible participants can nominate themselves by submitting their poster to conference@seeqa.org by August 26th, with later submissions accepted on a case-by-case basis.

With tickets already sold out, this event strives to be a significant milestone in the quantum community’s ongoing efforts to advance the field.
